If the sound is not regular it is possibly because there are problems with the surface on which the clock stands. Try to make the case stand right and make necessary adjustments.
* When you adjust the time avoid moving the hands of the clock rearwards more than just a few minutes. Dont ever move the hands towards the back across the mid night mark.
You can safely move the hands forward. When shifting over the twelve o clock mark wait until your clock has completed striking the hour before going forward.
* If your longcase clock runs too slow increase or decrease the linear dimensions of the pendulum.
Increase the length to diminish the clocks speed. Decrease the length of the pendulum to have the clock pick up pace.
