* A pendulum clock must be set up on a level ground or surface. This is a very basic point but it is quite critical.

* When changing the time avoid turning the hands of your clock rearwards by more than a few minutes. Never move the hands towards the back by the number twelve.
It is alright to shift the hands of the clock forward. When shifting across the mid night mark pause until your clock is done with striking the bell at the hour mark before going on.
* If the grandfather clock goes too fast shift the length of the pendulum.
Make it longer to reduce the speed of the clock. Shorten the pendulum to have the clock pick up pace.
